Monday, June 26
*A hit-and-run incident occurred
between 3-6 p.m. June 24 at Store
Gulch Campground. The driver’s side
rear door of an unoccupied silver-
colored Toyota Corolla was damaged,
but there was no suspect information.
It was tagged as beyond available
resources by Josephine County
Sheriff’s Office (JCSO).
*At 11:18 a.m. an agency
requested assistance from JCSO to
ensure that an establishment was
up to code. It seems that the owner
of a business in the 200 block of E.
Watkins Street has been hostile in the
past.
*A Jeep was recovered in the
parking lot of Taylor’s Country
Sausage at 11:24 a.m. An individual
claimed that the Jeep had been stolen
from him, then it was snatched from
the thief who took it. The rightful
owner provided a bill of sale, and a
deputy advised on the procedure to
register the vehicle. Arrangements
were made for the return of the car
keys.
*At 12:15 p.m. a bicyclist was
warned for failure to obey a traffic
control device (FTOTCD) near
E. Watkins Street and S. Junction
Avenue. He was reminded to contact
his probation officer Tuesday morning.
*A driver in a black Toyota
pickup truck was warned for no
license plate and driving with a
suspended license (DWS/V) near
Caves Hwy. and Dogwood Lane at
12:34 p.m.
*A father stated he had sole
custody of twins for the past eight
years, until June 16 when their mother
took them from the front yard while
he was in his back yard in the 100
block of Caves Hwy. The dad believes
she took them to Washington, where
she lives with her mother. The father
was unable to provide court-ordered
paperwork to a deputy, and was
advised to have his attorney contact
JCSO with the information. After
a deputy talked with the mother’s
family, it appeared that this might be a
civil matter.
*Everything was fine when a
deputy talked with two people at 3:24
B ingo
for
p.m. in the 200 block of S. Redwood
Hwy.
*At 4:14 p.m. a mother requested
a welfare check because she had not
spoken with her 3-year-old son in four
days, and she is authorized by court
order to talk with him every day. The
boy’s dad was going to a Pow-Wow
June 23, and should have returned
June 25. She was concerned because
his father lives at a marijuana grow
site in the 1700 block of Happy Camp
Road. By 4:41 p.m. both parents
confirmed that they had communicated
regarding their child.
*A short gal with longer gray
hair was warned for disorderly conduct
at 4:49 p.m. near W. River Street and

the 100 block of Patton Bar Road.
*Oregon State Police (OSP)
saw a clueless dude pointing a rifle
at the road near Redwood Hwy. and

shooting.
*A gal believed her landlord
removed a car from the 4600 block of
Waldo Road without her permission
on June 1 between 8 a.m. and 12:30
p.m. The owner of the vehicle was
deceased, but she stored the car for 18
months. Her plan was to place a title
lien to get ownership, then recover the
car from the salvage yard. The dispute
between landlord and tenant was a
civil issue.
*Two transients were rousted
from their camp under East Forks
bridge at 2:03 p.m. They were warned
for trespassing on state property, and
told to remove their items by the end
of the day.

with a woman on the side of the road
in the 3500 block of Rockydale Road.
*Jubilee Park was patrolled at
2:54 p.m.
*A black and red Honda side-
by-side ATV and a Hardcastle trailer
were listed as stolen out of Jackson
County. They were seen in the 300
block of Pine Tree Way at 2:57 p.m.,
but by 4:05 p.m. the ATV disappeared.
The trailer and tires from the side-
by-side were recovered. There is a
viable suspect, and a report was filed

truck and toolbox had been broken
into. Miscellaneous tools, paperwork,
and a Maverick over and under 12-
gauge shotgun were missing.
*There was a lot of yelling and
screaming heard in the 24500 block of
Redwood Hwy. at 11:51 a.m. Things
quieted down when a guy left in a
green Mustang. There was no crime,
just a verbal argument, but they were
both advised of options.
*At 1:36 p.m. a caller reported
a motorist in an orange Toyota Prius
that had been swerving into incoming
traffic for eight miles. A driver who
was disturbed by this behavior
followed the Prius to Caves Hwy.
and N. Old Stage Road, and there
was a verbal altercation before law
enforcement arrived. Both drivers
were warned to avoid each other on
the roadway.
*A guy was pulled over near
Kerby High Pines at 1:49 p.m. because
he had a reputation for driving on
a suspended license. However, he
