Charges can be amended or dismissed.) *** Monday, May 29 *Oregon State Police (OSP) received notification at 7:49 p.m. May 28 that a deceased individual had been located downstream from the McCaleb Ranch Boy Scout Camp near Illinois River Road. *A silver-colored Pontiac with a broken front window was recovered from a ditch near Holland Loop and Caves Hwy. at 9:04 a.m. The car had just been entered as stolen by Jackson County law enforcement. *Josephine County Search and Rescue retrieved the body from the Illinois River at 9:23 a.m. *Patrons of Jubilee Skate Park cleaned broken glass from the bowl of the skating area, and Cave Junction Department of Public Works was advised that there was graffiti on playground equipment. *A stereotypical woman driver in a dirty, burgundy Ford Explorer with yellow license plates was all over the road, with both tires over the white line near Lakeshore Drive and McMullen Creek Road at 12:53 p.m. *At 1:02 p.m. a motorist in a silver-colored Dodge pickup truck in the 100 block of Dogwood Lane was warned for driving with a suspended license (DWS/V), no front plate, and failure to carry proof of insurance and registration. *A fellow in the 300 block of June Drive said that he shot a guy three years ago because he had been harassing him for years. Apparently, the guy didn’t get the message, because at 2:57 p.m. he came to the fellow’s gate and yelled that he was going to run him over with his red Dodge pickup truck. He was worried for the safety of his grandchildren, and was provided with options regarding a restraining order. *A chap near Hwy. 199 and Caves Hwy. was feeling harassed by his ex-girlfriend’s new son-in-law at 3:07 p.m. He believes that the son- in-law is circling around him, and taking pictures and video because of a messy break-up. Tuesday, May 30 *At 5 p.m. May 27, a fellow was driving his brown 2016 Ford pickup truck on Westside Road when a red sedan crossed the line on a corner and struck his vehicle, causing $2,000 in damage. He notified OSP, but they did not respond because it was not on a highway. JCSO provided an incident number for insurance purposes. *A gal reported that a darker- skinned, very skinny ruffian wearing shorts and a horizontally-striped shirt was waving a gun around at 11:27 a.m. in Jubilee Park. A large crowd of people with shovels and picks gathered around to watch the show, while Lorna Byrne Middle School and Illinois Valley High School were placed on lock-down. Then the drama queen admitted that she fabricated the story to generate a response from law enforcement. The teens with shovels had been retained by the property owner to clean up a homeless camp where she was residing. Her plan backfired, as she was instructed to move her property. *The alarm would not engage, WHERE’S THE ALARM? The volunteers and staff of the Illinois Valley Fire District and lights would not turn on when an employee arrived at work at 8 a.m. in the 400 block of Caves Hwy. The door had been removed from the outside breaker box, and switches had been turned off. The IT company recorded a power outage at 3:28 a.m. Sunday, May 28. A report was filed for attempted burglary and criminal mischief. *Property adjacent to Jubilee Park in the 400 block of N. Old Stage Road has been used as an encampment for several homeless people throughout the month of May. The land owner is concerned that their campfires could become a real danger during fire season. He posted no-trespassing signs, but they disappear. A deputy explained how Oregon residency issues work. *A jerk in a green Jeep was speeding at 80 m.p.h. on Caves Hwy. at 1:19 p.m. A deputy terminated pursuit because the Jeep operator was endangering others by veering into oncoming traffic lanes. *Josephine County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) assisted Illinois Valley Fire District at 1:39 p.m. in Jubilee Park. It appeared that a fire was intentionally set, but was contained to a 15-foot radius. *A deputy went to the 500 block of Beebe Drive at 1:44 p.m. to serve a restraining order (RO). *The elusive green Jeep Cherokee met its match when it was located, over an embankment and stuck between trees in the 4400 block of Thompson Creek Road at 2 p.m. A report was filed for felony elude and reckless driving. *Law enforcement pulled over a blue Toyota at 2:20 p.m. in the 1000 block of Lakeshore Drive, and captured two criminals with warrants. Cecil Gordon Dodson, 35, was detained in Josephine County Jail for a state parole board felony warrant for parole violation and weapon offense. He was also in trouble for possession of meth. His partner-in-crime was warned for DWS/V and speeding. Anthony M. Hensley, 44, was cited to appear in Salem, Oregon on a warrant for charges of failure to carry and present license. *An RO was delivered to an individual in the 18000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 3:30 p.m. *A suspicious-looking character with a pipe or crowbar was wandering through the parking lot at 205 W. Watkins Street at 5 p.m. He was gone by the time law enforcement arrived. Thursday, June 1 *A deputy assisted OSP at 9:24 a.m. in the 100 block of Deer Creek Road. *At 10:25 a.m. an alert citizen spotted an ATV quad with a black cover, and suspected that it may have been stolen, because it was hidden in bushes in the 2000 block of Lakeshore Drive. Thanks to that tip, the registered owner recovered her quad. *Trespassers with a baby in a stroller have been loitering and sleeping overnight next to grocery stores in CJ and Selma since May 30. *A customer at a market in the 200 block of N. GUNS & AMMO 541-592-3349 river access on the west side of Eight Dollar Bridge at 1:19 p.m. *Deputies caught up with the operator of a quad near O’Brien Road and Redwood Hwy. at 1:30 p.m., and were searching for another character on a dirt bike who may have been heading towards Takilma. *A motorist near Waldo Road and Suncrest Drive was warned for expired registration and advised of driving status at 1:36 p.m. *At 1:56 p.m. a driver in the 7200 block of Rockydale Road was cleared pending further investigation. *The problem child in the burgundy 2007 Dodge Ram was back at a gate in the 300 block of June Drive at 2 p.m. *Brenda Ferrell, 41, was arrested near Caves Hwy. and Junction Avenue at 2:15 p.m. She was detained in Josephine County Jail on a felony warrant for failure to appear for unauthorized use of a vehicle (UUV). *A driver was warned for switching license plates and advised of his driving status at 2:15 p.m. near Siskiyou Market. *There was no one around an unlocked vehicle with a punched ignition near Green Bridge at 3:43 p.m. *A dispatcher heard a woman screaming, “They’re on their way” during a 911 call from the 300 block of Clear Creek Road at 5:53 p.m. When she was contacted, she was out of breath, but denied phoning 911.
