May 28 that a deceased individual
had been located downstream from
the McCaleb Ranch Boy Scout Camp
near Illinois River Road.
*A silver-colored Pontiac with a
broken front window was recovered
from a ditch near Holland Loop and
Caves Hwy. at 9:04 a.m. The car
had just been entered as stolen by
Jackson County law enforcement.
*Josephine County Search and
Rescue retrieved the body from the
Illinois River at 9:23 a.m.
*Patrons of Jubilee Skate
Park cleaned broken glass from the
bowl of the skating area, and Cave

was advised that there was graffiti on
playground equipment.
*A stereotypical woman driver
in a dirty, burgundy Ford Explorer
with yellow license plates was all

white line near Lakeshore Drive and
McMullen Creek Road at 12:53 p.m.
*At 1:02 p.m. a motorist in a
silver-colored Dodge pickup truck in
the 100 block of Dogwood Lane was
warned for driving with a suspended
license (DWS/V), no front plate, and
failure to carry proof of insurance
and registration.
*A fellow in the 300 block of
June Drive said that he shot a guy
three years ago because he had been
harassing him for years. Apparently,
the guy didn’t get the message,
because at 2:57 p.m. he came to the
fellow’s gate and yelled that he was
going to run him over with his red
Dodge pickup truck. He was worried
for the safety of his grandchildren,
and was provided with options
regarding a restraining order.
*A chap near Hwy. 199 and
Caves Hwy. was feeling harassed by
his ex-girlfriend’s new son-in-law at

*At 5 p.m. May 27, a fellow
was driving his brown 2016 Ford
pickup truck on Westside Road when
a red sedan crossed the line on a
corner and struck his vehicle, causing
$2,000 in damage. He notified OSP,
but they did not respond because
it was not on a highway. JCSO
provided an incident number for
insurance purposes.
*A gal reported that a darker-
skinned, very skinny ruffian wearing
shorts and a horizontally-striped
shirt was waving a gun around at
11:27 a.m. in Jubilee Park. A large
crowd of people with shovels and
picks gathered around to watch the
show, while Lorna Byrne Middle
School and Illinois Valley High
School were placed on lock-down.
Then the drama queen admitted that
she fabricated the story to generate a
response from law enforcement. The
teens with shovels had been retained
by the property owner to clean up
a homeless camp where she was
residing. Her plan backfired, as she
was instructed to move her property.
*The alarm would not engage,

for attempted burglary and criminal
mischief.
*Property adjacent to Jubilee
Park in the 400 block of N. Old
Stage Road has been used as an
encampment for several homeless
people throughout the month of
May. The land owner is concerned
that their campfires could become
a real danger during fire season. He
posted no-trespassing signs, but they
disappear. A deputy explained how
Oregon residency issues work.
*A jerk in a green Jeep was
speeding at 80 m.p.h. on Caves Hwy.
at 1:19 p.m. A deputy terminated
pursuit because the Jeep operator was
endangering others by veering into
oncoming traffic lanes.

Fire District at 1:39 p.m. in Jubilee
Park. It appeared that a fire was

serve a restraining order (RO).

Cherokee met its match when it was
located, over an embankment and
stuck between trees in the 4400 block
of Thompson Creek Road at 2 p.m. A
report was filed for felony elude and
reckless driving.
*Law enforcement pulled
over a blue Toyota at 2:20 p.m. in
the 1000 block of Lakeshore Drive,
and captured two criminals with
warrants. Cecil Gordon Dodson, 35,
was detained in Josephine County
Jail for a state parole board felony
warrant for parole violation and
weapon offense. He was also in
trouble for possession of meth. His

Lakeshore Drive. Thanks to that tip,
the registered owner recovered her
quad.

a stroller have been loitering and
sleeping overnight next to grocery
stores in CJ and Selma since May 30.
