Continued from A-7 *JCSO dispatch received three calls at 3:38 p.m. when the owner of a teal 1991 Honda Accord spotted his stolen vehicle in a parking lot of the 76 gas station in Selma. The license plates had been changed, and the other driver claimed he purchased the car for $500 from an old lady. A suspect was in custody, and the Accord was towed. Outside the Valley *Fifteen entries. Thursday, Jan. 12 *JCSO transported a suspect from 300 W. Lister Street to Josephine County Grand Jury at 9:14 a.m. Outside the Valley *Fifteen incidents. Friday, Jan. 13 *JCSO assisted at Evergreen Elementary School at 9:01 a.m. *An unknown vagrant with shaggy dark hair was loitering for days around the U.S. Post Office in Selma. He was harassing customers, sleeping in the parking lot, then moving inside to sleep as soon as the building opened. The nasty dude was told to move along when he defecated on the floor. His excuse for not leaving was his broken-down primer-white Nissan pickup truck, with license plates registered to a 1988 Chevy Camaro. The driver was an ex- tenant, and he was accompanied by two other guys. The truck returned and pulled up to his gate, then a shot was fired from the passenger side. The driver was known to stay on Airport Drive and Draper Valley Road. A report was filed in Brookings in December when the troublesome tenant slashed two of his landlord’s tires. Options regarding obtaining a stalking order will be pursued. *A gal had a flat tire on her gray 2010 Subaru Legacy, so she parked her car at the Oregon Caves Chevron. The driver’s side window was broken between 10 p.m. on Jan. 9 and Jan. 10 at 2 a.m. Several items were taken, including her wallet with her identification and driver’s license. *Nature lovers surveying bird species as part of the Illinois Valley Christmas bird count found a Medford Mail Tribune newspaper box on Finch Road on Dec. 20. The receptacle was found next to a Datsun pickup truck that was stuck near the Illinois River Bridge, and there was a newspaper dated Dec. 17 inside. (Great for lining bird cages.) *At 1:26 p.m. a fellow fled from a Mitsubishi Galant, behind N. Sawyer Avenue, then he hid in the woods behind Stevenson Street. He refused to respond to law enforcement, then escaped by running toward the water plant. He left behind the passenger, who was the registered owner of the car, and she was warned not to drive her Galant until the broken window was replaced. *A white 1987 Mercedes 190D with Wisconsin license plates was snowed in at Eight Dollar Mountain on Jan. 9. When the owner returned to the car on Jan. 16, the rear passenger windows and trunk were damaged, and the dashboard was ripped out. Items stolen included a Walther P38 semi-automatic and leather holster, social security card, birth certificate, books, stereo system, tools, snow chains, indoor grow light, Mac notebook, Dell laptop, and Mercedes wheels. *A deputy checked S. Kerby Avenue and W. Watkins Street at 1:45 p.m. Apparently everything was fine. Outside the Valley *Seventeen listings. Saturday, Jan. 14 *At 9:30 a.m., a domestic violence situation was reported in the 700 block of Althouse Creek Road. A gal was being taken against her will by her boyfriend, and a witness was holding an ax handle for protection. The tall, long-haired hot-head was wearing a blue T-shirt but no jacket, and he was last seen walking towards the Holland Store. *A mother in the 9600 block of Thompson Creek Road claimed that Outside the Valley *Twenty items. Sunday, Jan. 15 *The cone-head in the 300 block of Pine Tree Way didn’t get the message when his ex-wife threatened to shoot him, so he returned at 10:54 a.m. to pick up some of his property. He rolled up his car window and phoned 911 when the angry woman walked up and yelled at him. She stayed away from him until law enforcement arrived, then he was trespassed from the property pending the civil outcome of the divorce. *At 12:24 p.m. the south gate was open at the Siskiyou Community Health Center. Law enforcement discovered that the Jeep Cherokee in the parking lot belonged to the cleaning crew, and the perimeter was secured. *JVSO patrolled the 6300 block of Deer Creek Road at 1 p.m. *A business in the 300 block of S. Redwood Hwy. was burglarized at 5:30 a.m. The front door was pried open, causing $300 in damages. The broken cash register was located behind the store, missing its $50 contents. Surveillance evidence may be available, and the crook left a cigarette on a counter. A report was filed for second-degree burglary, theft, and mischief. *An unoccupied Ford Taurus was parked in a handicap spot at the Eight Dollar Boardwalk at 1:51 p.m., and a citation was issued. *The title and signed stolen report was filed regarding a beige motorhome with gold and orange stripes that was swiped from the 1900 block of Holland Loop. *JCSO assisted Oregon State Police with a traffic stop at 25688 Redwood Hwy. at 2:57 p.m. Outside the Valley *Twenty-two items. He realized he was wrong when his ex-wife fired shots at 5:47 p.m. He was cautioned to not put himself in a dangerous situation, and he concurred and left the property.
