Meanwhile, the old Kerby Ditch, which served resi- dents for years, is dete- riorating, but there’s a possibility that because of its historic value, some portions could be saved. Charges can be amended or dismissed.) * * * Thursday, March 17 *A 12-year-old runaway was arrested on E. River Street around 9 a.m. and taken to the Juvenile Justice Center. *On Eight Dollar Road around 10:30 a.m., a driver fled when asked for ID, and later he and his passengers fled the vehicle after it became stuck in a ditch. Jeremy Dillon Dutton, 22, was arrested on a charge of parole violation and lodged in county jail. Robert Lewis Pen- dleton, 31, positively identi- fied, although not apprehended, was charged with felony elud- ing and three counts of reckless endangering. *Alleging that her preteen daughter had “slept” with a 25- year-old when in the care of another person, a woman was causing a disturbance and mak- ing threats at a residence on O’Brien Road around 11 a.m. Friday, March 18 *Found sleeping under a tarpaulin near a woodpile on June Drive, an apparently in- toxicated man left when told to do so, but asked for a blanket. *William Richard Davis III, 21, was cited on a charge of driving while suspended (DWS) and driving uninsured in the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. at 4:22 p.m. *Jeremy Lee Jorgensen, 19, was cited on a charge of failure to appear (FTA) on an original charge of third-degree theft (shoplifting) following a traffic stop on Takilma Road. *In the 24000 block of Redwood Hwy. around 9:30 p.m. James Arthur Arciniega, 25, was cited on a charge of speeding/80 in a 55 mph zone. Saturday, March 19 *A Kerby woman said her son was bitten on the lip by a neighbor’s mixed-breed dog. *A woman reported that her son’s mountain bike, val- ued at $110, was stolen from Illinois Valley High School. *David C. Browning, 58, was cited for passing in a no- passing zone in the 32000 block of Redwood Hwy. around noon. *Rita Stidger, aka Rita Carroll Bennett, was arrested at Shop Smart Food Warehouse on a warrant charging FTA on a fugitive charge and lodged in county jail. *On S. Junction Avenue a woman complained that a man parks his pickup truck in her neighborhood two to three nights a week and sleeps there. *When contacted on Jona- than Court around 6 p.m. and told to leave, a man found sleeping in his vehicle said it was “the only safe place for him to be” because “people were out to get him.” He re- fused to move. Sunday, March 20 *A woman in the 8000 block of Holland Loop said that her mailbox had been smashed early this morning. *Also on Holland Loop, a road sign was pulled down. *A bottle return machine at CJ Select Market was van- dalized, a woman reported. *In the proximity of sev- eral smashed mailboxes, an OSP trooper reported finding a broken aluminum baseball bat handle, which he believed might yield some clues. *Vicki Lou Woods, 53, was arrested on a charge of second-degree criminal tres- pass during a road closure pro- test on Eight Dollar Road. *Employee error caused an alarm at I.V. Family Coali- tion around 1 p.m. *Following three com- plaints from residents on Jona- than Court of a man sleeping in his Toyota pickup truck, Mi- chael Gee Yaknowski, 55, was cited on a charge of camping within city limits. *Wearing a cowboy hat and red shirt, a man was stand- ing in the 5000 block of Caves Hwy. screaming for no known reason. Monday, March 21 *Kristopher John Roberts, 24, was contacted within the closure area on Eight Dollar Road at 5:30 a.m. and cited on a warrant charging FTA on a DUII charge. *No substantiated infor- mation was available to impli- cate “the neighbor children” in a tire-slashing event on Wat- kins Street. *An eye-witness reported two men siphoning gas from vehicles in the 500 block of Schumacher Street. *Two gas cans found while a deputy investigated an earlier theft were assigned a report number and entered as found property at I.V. Substa- tion around 2 p.m. *Around a dozen people were drinking and harassing customers near a CJ restaurant, a woman said. *Michael R. Breyette, 29, was cited to appear on a war- rant charging parole violation. *A 12-year-old runaway was arrested on Fir Drive and taken to the Juvenile Justice Center in Grants Pass. Tuesday, March 22 *Concerned that a neighbor might be “growing,” a man on O’Brien Road com- plained of excessive generator noise around 4:30 a.m. *A vehicle was observed “pulling brodies” on the black- top at Shop Smart, splashing mud on the building. *A stolen four-wheel drive pickup truck was recovered in the 6000 block of Takilma Road. *Squatters were given 24 hours to leave a property in the 400 block of Old Stage Road. *William Donald Neith, 37, was cited on charges of no operator’s permit and no insur- ance. Arrested was Shane Mi- chael Cardoza, 34, a transient. He was charged with first- degree burglary, being a felon in possession of a firearm, sec- ond-degree theft, and posses- sion of burglar tools, said GPDPS. Cardoza was arrested Fri- day, March 25 after auction employees saw him inside a house, where auction items were located. He ran into a grocery store, where he was appre- hended by an auction employee and store workers. He tried to hide a gun on a shelf, said GPDPS. The second suspect is still at large.
