ONABEN calls for artwork for conference, trade show ONABEN-A Native American Busi ness Network is seeking American Indian. Alaskan Native or Native Hawaiian art work to use in the marketing materials for the 12,h Annual Trading at the River Conference and Trade Show. At the core of this event are three ele ments: Native people, growth and trade. From its inception, Trading at the River has embraced these facets to bring the event mission to life - to celebrate and grow Native American small businesses. Don’t miss the Oregon Drive Less Challenge - Oct. 21-Nov. 1 Track your trips by bike, bus, walking, carpool/vanpool and teleworking to help us eliminate a half-million vehicle miles statewide! The winning piece will be used in event graphics and marketing materials (website, posters, brochures, etc.). The winning artist will be highlighted in the event program and via social media and marketing materials. The chosen artist also may have an opportunity to speak at the conference. The deadline for submissions is 5 p.m. on Oct. 31, 2013. All art must be original and appropri ate for conversion to a digital format. More than one piece of art from any artist will be accepted. All mediums are welcome: digital art, photos, paint, textile, etc. Please include a one-page biogra phy, contact information and the artwork (high resolution JPGs with a max 5MB for initial submission - provide titles and descriptions). ONABEN offers Indianpreneurship® instructor training You're invited to our next Indi anpreneurship® Train-the-Trainer session on Nov. 7-8 at the Ambridge Event Center in Portland, Ore. Join us for two days of interac tive training and small group work covering the basic philosophy under lying the Indianpreneurship® course and experience. We will introduce best practices in classroom facilita tion and instruction as well as utilize discussions and peer information exchanges. We will walk participants through selected lessons of the text and introduce them to the curricu lum, which includes tips on running their own small business program. The second edition of the Teachers Guide is new and improved, with timed exercises, highlighted tips and lesson tools throughout the text. The session will take place in the St. John’s Room of the Ambridge Event Center, 1333 NE M.L. King Blvd, in Portland.
