Mark your calendars for Indian Fair in May 2014 The Siletz Tribal Arts and Heritage Society (STAHS) is in the process of planning an Indian Fair scheduled for May 2014. Although this sounds like a long way away, really it’s just around the corner! This early notice is to give everyone ample time to prepare ways in which to participate. What’s to be included? Here’s what is on the drawing board to date: Exhibits of regalia from Tribal families (both his toric and contemporary), food vendors, craft vendors, craft demonstrations and drumming and dancing demonstrations. STAHS annual meeting The location is yet to be determined. Since this event will be open to the public, we hope to locate the fair where it will be well-attended. More information will be published as the planning process continues. For more information, contact STAHS at 541-351-8663. The Siletz Tribal Arts and Heritage Society Board of Directors will hold its annual meeting to elect officers on Oct. 5 at 10 a.m. in the Tribal Council chambers in the Tribal administration building in Siletz, Ore. STAHS meetings are held the first Saturday of every month and are open to the public. The Siletz Valley Friends of the Library (SVFOL) thank the Siletz Tribal Charitable Contribution Fund for its continued support in giving $5,000 toward the cost of this work. Other money raised came from numerous book and hake sales held by SVFOL as well as generous donations from various people in the Siletz community.
