Dinner began with a sampling of the hors d'oeuvres served at the Rogue River Steakhouse followed by dinner selections from the menu. The writers were accom panied by Tracie Driver of Northwest Eco-Excursions and Lucy Gibson, public relations director for the Oregon Coast Visitor Association and Central Oregon Coast Association. All things came to a full stop before munching could begin to take photos of the delicious entrees that looked as good as they tasted. A long, enjoyable conver sation took place about the casino, all its amenities and, of course, the restaurants. The writers expressed a strong inter est in the history of Chinook Winds Casino and the Siletz Tribe, so much so that a copy of The People Are Dancing Again by Charles Wilkinson was mailed to each of the journalists after their depar ture and each was presented with a full press kit featuring Chinook Winds and the Siletz Tribe. Each year we are rewarded with articles generated from this tour and we look forward to the interesting reading to come. 1-877-314-5678 www.OregonHealthyKids.gov We cover all the health coverage American Indian/Alaska Native kids and teens need.
