Along with Amie Fisher and Robert Williams, they raised $112 for victims of the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. norm . imbi ibbm . ■■niHni Monte Wayne Kenttä - 1953-2011 Monte was an avid golfer, fisherman, Monte Wayne Kentta of Lincoln City, Ore., died of cancer at Samaritan North sports fan and adventurer. His favorite Lincoln Hospital on April 8, 2011. He was 57. pastime was being with his family. Monte worked as a logger for 15 years Monte was bom in Newport, Ore., to William and Norma (Bellinger) Kentta on after his service in the U.S. Air Force. He changed professions and was a carpenter May 19, 1953. for the last 17 years of his life. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Kathy; daughters Lisa Wagoner of Yakima, Wash., and Jenniffer Parker of Fort Smith, Ark.; his oldest son, Brian Kentta (Ann) of Lithia, Fla.; youngest son, Catlin Kentta (Heather Polly) of Salem, Ore.; sisters Rose Kentta and Lydia Kentta; and brother Arlen. Monte had 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews whom he loved so much. He touched so many lives in such a short time on this earth. A memorial service will be held in Lincoln City in May. As was his wish, he was cremated and his ashes will be mixed with Kathy’s upon her death. Timothy Patrick Viles -1958-2011 Timothy Patrick Viles Timothy Patrick Viles died April 15, 2011, at his home in Lincoln City, Ore. He was 52. He was bom Oct. 11, 1958, in Prin eville, Ore., to Melvin and Mary Viles. Tim graduated from Crook County High School in 1976 and attended Oregon Institute of Technology. After ward, he began work at Tektronix and later at Key Technology. Tim received his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Oregon University in busi ness administration. After moving to Lincoln City with his family in 1995, he continued his education and became cer tified as a CPA. He worked for multiple organizations during his career in finance, including Chinook Winds Casino Resort, Salem-Keizer School District and Siletz Tribal Business Corporation. Tim married Tamara Jones in 1983 and they had four children, Joel, Sydney and Ryan Viles of Portland, Ore., and Alyson Viles of Lincoln City. Tim enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, playing tennis and riding his motorcycle. He also was dedicated to supporting his children in their activities, such as serving as a stroke and turn official for Oregon Swimming. He is survived by his four children; his mother, Mary Service Viles of Prine ville; his four brothers, David Viles of Eugene, Ore., Daniel Viles of Prineville, Curtis Viles of Prineville and Andrew Viles of Eugene; and his two sisters, Melissa Viles of Prineville and Cynthia Viles of Portland. His father, Melvin Viles, died earlier. A service was held April 21 at the Congregational Church of Lincoln City. Memorial contributions can be made to the Portland Alcohol Research Center of Oregon Health and Science University. Arrangements entrusted to Pacific View Memorial Chapel. William ‘Junior’ Clark John - 1933-2011--------------------- William “Junior” Clark John, 77, of Salem, Ore., died of pulmonary fibrosis on April 17, 2011, at his home. He was bom July 1, 1933, to Clark and Eva (Goodell) John in Siletz, Ore. He was the oldest of nine children. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955, with tours in Germany. When he returned, he followed the love of his life, Jane Irene Service, to Califor nia, participating in the Termination and Relocation Program through the Siletz Tribe. Junior and Jane married on Oct. 14,1955. Together they raised their three children in California. Junior was an active man who thor oughly enjoyed sports. He bowled, played softball and basketball and, along with his cousin, Dennis Lane, coached his son’s winning Little League teams. Junior was a huge fan of the Oakland Raiders, the Oakland A’s and the Oakland Oaks. These sports traditions are carried on through his children and grandchildren. Junior and Jane returned to Oregon in 1981. Junior worked for Chemawa Indian School in the Willamette Valley until his retirement in 1997. His favorite pastimes involved being with others. He loved going to his grand children’s sporting events. Now and then, he liked to gamble. Junior was an avid pinochle player and he played often with family and friends. He even let them win occasionally. The event he looked for ward to attending every year was the big New Year’s Eve celebration at Chinook Winds Casino. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Jane; daughters, Glendora (Justin) Osborn of Okemah, Okla., Diana (Lon nie) Kronsteiner of Salem; son, William C. John Jr. of Lincoln City, Ore.; siblings, Gylene (Earl) Jones, Josephine John, Elizabeth John, Robert “Johnnie” John, David John, Leroy John, Lindsay John and Ronald (Denise) John; grandchildren, Garett John, Jeremy Smith, Markus John and Samantha John; and numerous nieces and nephews.
