Pow Wow Comedy Jam, Williams & Ree Leave Long Trail of Laughter Pow-Wow Comedy Jam This comedy performance features six headline comedians who have left a long trail of laughter across the nation. Jim Ruel, Vaughn Eaglebear, Marc Yaf- fee and J.R. Redwater will take the stage along with the hilarious featured duo of Williams & Ree. This three-hour show comes to Chinook Winds on Aug. 7-8. Marc Yaffee takes audiences on his hilarious journey of life as he discovers his Native American roots. He performs original comedy to which people from all walks of lite can relate. The co-founder of Pow Wow Comedy Jam, Yaffee has entertained audiences on three continents, including U.S. troops in the Persian Gulf, Germany, Korea and Japan. At home, Yaffee has played clubs and colleges in 26 states. His TV credits include Byron Allen's Comics Unleashed and SiTV’s Funny is Funny. “I’m a Mexican Irish Navajo, Mexi-jo. My ancestors exploited my own ancestors. 1 feel guilty and oppressed,” he says. Vaughn Eaglebear, nicknamed “The Frybread Assassin," has an original style of one-liner laughs. Once the audience joins in on the Eaglebear ride, there’s no turning back. The laughs just keep rolling. When this ride is over, audiences will have a severe dose of comedy whiplash. An accomplished pow-wow drummer and emcee, the multi-talented Eaglebear also wrote the song John Wayne’s Teeth for the movie Smoke Signals. Jim Ruel's hilarious celebrity impres sions in his own style are enough to keep you laughing all night. This funny Ojibwe is hard-wired for comedy. His creative comedic talents have earned him rave reviews from London to Los Angeles. As soon as the jokes fly out of his mouth, audiences know why Ruel was selected as a finalist in NBC’s talent Di versity Showcase and cast to appear on the BBC comedy show The World Stands Up. This Milwaukee native leaves audiences spent from laughing at lines like, “Indians celebrate Thanksgiving Day. Except we call it ‘You’re Welcome Day.’” J.R. Redwater is like a jolt of comedy lightning who takes audiences by storm with his fearless style of raw comedy. He spins the bitter hardships of reservation life into huge laughs. He has been called the “Reservation Sensation" for good reason - he is one of the most requested motivational speakers in Indian Country today. You will know why as soon you see Redwater hit the stage. This master storyteller delivers wall-to-wall laughs that connect with audiences of all ages and backgrounds. The Pow Wow Comedy Jam has an. added bonus with the addition of Williams & Ree, who have performed together for more than 28 years. The classic comedy team of Willie Tyler and Lester headlines Comedy on the Coast at Chinook Winds on Aug. 28-29. Sharing the stage with this duo of hilarity is Don Barnhart and Mark Carlile. Willie Tyler began his career at age 10, performing in Detroit, Mich. While still in grade school, he took a correspondence ventriloquist course he found in a Popular Mechanics magazine ad. Between school and delivering newspapers, Tyler found time to perform in variety shows and talent contests. After four years in the U.S. Air Force, Tyler returned to Detroit and a few years later signed with the Motown Record Corporation. Tyler and his wooden friend Lester toured with all the Motown greats - Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, The Supremes, The Temptations and more - for eight years. The team s TV credits are impressive, including appearances on Late Show with David Letterman, Primetime Country and Jimmy Kimmell Live. An award-winning comic, writer, director and syndicated TV series host, Don Barnhart was nominated Best Comedian in Las Vegas for 2009 and won the American Idol Comedy Contest grand prize in 2007. This Vegas resident is fast making a name for himself as the opening act for comic pal Louie Anderson when he’s not headlining his own shows at The Improv, LA Comedy Club or Bonkers. He has shared the stage with comedy legends, including Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Tim Allen, Robin Williams and Jim Carrey. He also has appeared on comedy shows featured on NBC, Comedy Central and MTV. Mark Carlile is known to his fans as “The Hall Monitor of Life" and has delighted audiences with his brand of geeky humor for more than 12 years, covering topics such as childhood, family and dating. Carlile performs standup comedy all over the country. He has competed in the San Francisco Comedy Competition and performs regularly in Los Angeles-area clubs. - including The Ice House, The Comedy Store and The Laugh Factory.
