Lisa s grandson, Mossimo, helps with shop construction of the All Native Creations artists ’ co-op in Siletz. Lisa Brown and her son, Chris, with Portland Mayor Tom Potter at the first annual Native American Marketplace held Nov. 29 at the Portland Building. Brown Receives Potlatch Fund Grant Lisa Brown has received a Potlatch Fund Native Arts grant of $500 to pur chase a laptop to help represent art ists and the All Native Creations art ists’ co-op. Currently, artists are represented via the Web site, www.allnativecreations.com, and by telephone contact. Beginning in 2008, the artists’ work also will be represented via a portfolio at the new shop being built in Siletz and at events. The Potlatch Fund is a Native-led grantmaking foundation and leader ship development organization offer ing culturally appropriate training and technical assistance to build the capacity of grantmakers, tribes, Na tive groups, and other Native grant seekers in Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Western Montana. One of the innovative programs run by the Potlatch Fund is to award grants to Northwest Native artists. This program, which has been assisted through fund- 10 • Siletz News • ing from the Ford Foundation, is a way to recognize excellence, encourage emerging artists and support commu nity-based activities that promote arts. Seth Evan Barnwell Seth Evan Barnwell was born in a blaze of glory during the San Diego County Firestorm. Oct. 23, 2007. Proud parents are Leslie Lane Ralston and Brett Evan Barnwell. Grandparents are Alan and Dona Lou (Lane) James, and great-grandparents are Alfred and Clarice Lane.
