Hard work and good grades should be acknowledged. Superintendent Su­
san Castillo and the state Board of Education offer a way for public schools in
Oregon to recognize those graduating seniors who have demonstrated outstand­
ing academic achievement during their high school careers.
An Oregon honors diploma seal is available for students who have obtained
a GPA of 3.5 or above, based on the seventh semester accumulative reports.
If you wish to participate, please complete the Honors Seals Request Form.

Enter State Fair “Wonders of
Oregon” Art Contest
Elementary and middle school students are invited to submit artwork suit­
able for a postcard. High school students are invited to submit artwork suitable
for a T-shirt. The winners from each school level will receive a lineup of prizes
provided by the Oregon State Fair and Bi-Mart.
Students can submit art as a team or individual. Artwork may be any size,
any shape, and any media. Artwork must be based on the theme of "Wonders of
Oregon,” which includes art relating to geography, an admired Oregonian, a
food or beverage, a local sports team, etc.
Entries must be received by the fair no later than April 15, 2067. Winners
will be notified by May 5. 2007.
All artwork (do not fold for mailing) should be mailed to the following ad­
dress: Oregon State Fair & Expo Center, Attn: Bev Young, “Wonders of Oregon
Art Contest, 2330 17,h St. NE, Salem, OR 97301.
