CHINOOK WINDS CASINO RESORT The Smothers Brothers to Perform at Chinook Winds The Smothers Brothers will per form their slapstick style of comedy on Jan. 12-13 at Chinook Winds. As one of comedy's most famous duos. Tom and Dick have been enter taining crowds for more than 48 years. The Smothers Brothers are being sa luted as time-honored legends whose lengthy career has surpassed all other comedy teams in history. The Smothers Brothers' first pro fessional appearance was at The Purple Onion in San Francisco in 1958 and their first national television appearance was on the Jack Paar show on Jan. 28, 1961. More than four decades of audi ences have seen the Smothers Broth ers in their own primetime comedy se ries in the 1960s, ‘70s, and '80s; guest appearances on numerous television programs; countless engagements as headliners in Las Vegas, Reno, and Lake Tahoe; a hot-selling video; 12 top-selling albums; as well as continu ous coast-to coast concert tours, some with symphony orchestras. The contributions Tom and Dick have made to the entertainment world throughout their careers are so highly respected that the Museum of Televi sion and Radio in New York produced a retrospective and seminar on their work, an honor not lightly accorded.
