She is the QI coordinator for the Siletz Community Health Clinic. She was nominated for her work in coordi nating the clinic staff’s efforts to ob tain accreditation from the Accredita tion Association for Ambulatory Health Care. Inc. (AAAHC). Although accreditation is an organization-wide achievement, Marlene Van Noy pulled every piece together in the months leading to the survey dates of July 13 and 14. Marlene “rallied the troops” to complete their policies and procedures, quality improvement studies and files to prepare for the survey. Accreditation is granted based on evidence that an organization meets, and will continue to meet, nationally accepted standards in 24 areas of per formance. Our recent survey achieved substantial compliance in all applicable areas. A full three-year accreditation was granted, the highest score possible. The entire clinic staff is to be complimented; however Marlene de serves special recognition for her un tiring efforts. Trading at the River, a conference sponsored by the Oregon Native American Business Entrepreneur Setwork (ONA BEN), featured several Siletz Tribal business owners. The conference focused on helping American Indian entrepreneurs and business owners become successful. ONABEN Conference Features Siletz Business Owners Several Siletz business owners were featured panelists at Trading at the River, a conference sponsored by the Oregon Native American Business Entrepreneur Network (ONABEN) re cently in Portland, Ore. The workshop “Becoming an Indianpreneur” was attended by more than 50 people and focused on how to start your own business. Rosie Sufficool, business informa tion counselor and Siletz Tribal Action Network (S.T.A.N.) coordinator, facili tated the workshop.
