TRIBAL PROGRAM NEWS Mark Your Calendar for Culture Camp Free Used Furniture Available July 18-20, 2006 - Siletz, Oregon Culture Camp is scheduled for July 18-20, 2006, at the Siletz Tribal Com munity Center and pow-wow grounds. Culture Camp is for Siletz Tribal mem bers only. The camp is intended for tribal families and children under age 10 must be chaperoned at all times by an adult. Used furniture and fixtures from 187 hotel rooms at Chinook Winds Casino Resort will soon be available to tribal members and tribal employees. From July 26 to mid-August, the following items will be available at Chinook Winds Casino Resort: side of Lincoln County) to use during Culture Camp on July 18-20, 2006. Please submit your name, address, phone number, and roll number to CTSI, P.O. Box 549, Siletz, OR 97380- 0549, Attention: Cultural Program. Deadline is July 10, 2006. Activities Camp planning meetings are under way. Suggested activities are basket weaving, drum making, shell necklace making, bead working, moccasin mak ing, shawl making, bear grass braid ing. language classes, traditional foods preparation, nature walks and exercise challenge, flintknapping, storytelling, and recreational activities. Camping Overnight camping is available for families that live outside of the Siletz area only! Apply for Over-Income Grants for Your Home The Over-Income Rehabilitation Construction program funds over-income families with a $5,000 grant for con struction rehabilitation on the primary residence they own or families who have possessor rights to their home. Rehabilitation refers to repairs or renovations to the home, but does not include appliances, saunas, hot tubs, swimming pools, etc. Over-Income refers to tribal members whose income exceeds the income lim its set by the Native American Housing Assistance and Self-Determination Act (NAHASDA). Applications, including proof of income, enrollment, and mortgage, must be submitted to the Housing office by July 31, 2006, at 4:30 p.m. Applications received after that date and time will not be accepted by the Siletz Tribal Housing Department.
