CHINOOK WINDS CASINO RESORT Coast into 2006 at Chinook Winds New Year’s Eve will be here sooner then you think and Chinook Winds Ca sino Resort is ready to go by ringing in the New Year with a Roman flair. With multiple options to choose from, there’s something for everyone. Performing live in the convention cen ter will be Patrick Lamb. As a songwriter and performing artist, he combines the influences of funk, “old school” R&B, and jazz to create a unique sound. The party will begin at 9 p.m., with a balloon drop and champagne toast at midnight. At the Rogue River Lounge’s Roman Holiday, the DJ Super Sonic will spin songs for the night fantastic. Tickets for either party are $ 15 and include a midnight toast as well as party hats and favors. Chinook Winds Golf Resort won't be left out - join the party at 9 p.m. Listen to the classic rock sounds of the Salmon River Band and enjoy a champagne toast at midnight for only a $15 cover. For those who hope to start the New Year off with a big win, there’s New Year’s Eve Bingo with more than $14,000 in cash prizes. Buy-in includes a holiday dinner buf fet, free dauber pack, party favors, bal loon drop, and a sparkling cider midnight toast. Dinner will be served from 5:45 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with the first game immedi ately following. The buy-in is $75 in advance and $100 at the door. You also will receive a free pull-tab along with the chance to SPIN & Win in 2006 to win free BINGO and glass floats. Saying goodbye to 2005 with a fes tive dinner is a tradition for many. At Chi nook Winds Casino Resort, special din ing selections will be available to suit many tastes. In the Rogue River Restaurant and hotel restaurant, the menu will include fine dining dinner packages. On Jan. 1, the Siletz Bay Buffet will have all-you- can-eat seafood, including Dungeness crab legs, cooked-to-order shrimp scampi, and much more. For those who want to eat later that evening, the buffet will offer a New Year’s breakfast buffet including peel-‘n’-eat shrimp, carved honey-roasted ham, French toast, biscuits and gravy, and other breakfast items from midnight to 4 a.m. This New Year’s Eve, the Play Pal ace Child Care will have a Hawaiian flair. There will be games, prizes, food, photo board, and all kinds of fun - just for kids. The New Year’s Eve party will run from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. with a toast of sparkling cider at midnight. With Play Palace Child Care, you can enjoy a special evening out knowing that your child is safe, secure, and having a great time. Admission is $25 for eight hours with meals for an additional $4 and carnival game tickets are four for $1. To qualify, parents must pre-register by Dec. 29. Play Palace New Year’s Eve hours are 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Kids must be potty trained and 3 to 11 years old. 22 ’ • ' Siletz News • Prettyman Named Superstar Employee for Third Quarter Yvonne Prettyman of Lincoln City has been selected as Chinook Winds Casino Resort’s Superstar employee for the third quarter of 2005. In recognition of her accom plishment, Yvonne was presented with a check for $ 1,000. A marble tile plaque, with her name en graved, will be displayed at the front entrance to the casino. After accepting her award, Yvonne tear fully said, “I just do my job and am happy that people appreci ate it.” Tribal elders, members of the Tribal Council, the Siletz Tribal Gaming Commission, and Chi nook Winds directors and selected staff attended the Superstar cer emony. The list of nominees in cluded one other superior em ployee - Tina Monger, also of the Food and Beverage Department. From the more than 900 Chinook Winds employees, only four are chosen to receive this honor. To be eli gible, an employee must perform his/her duties at a high standard of excellence on a consistent ba sis and must exhibit a dedication to internal and external customer service. Once an individual is nominated by casino staff or guests, the nomination must pass several reviews before the final selection. Yvonne was nominated by five guests. One of them submit ted a nomination that read, “My mother got up to use the restroom and during this time my father, who has Alzheimer’s disease, disappeared. This employee (Yvonne Prettyman) stopped what she was doing and helped search for him, checking restrooms, tables, asking other employees and players. Her quick reaction helped us find him playing a machine. It is employees like this who keep us at Chi nook Winds.
