Ben Family Sets Giveaway A dinner and giveaway honoring the life of Rod Ben is scheduled for 2 p.m. on May 2, 2004, at the Tribal Community Center in Siletz. Rod’s parents, brothers, wife, and family extend an invitation to all his friends and relatives to attend. Correction: In an article on youth wrestlers from Siletz in the March issue of Siletz News, Ryan Williams was misidentified as Ryan Mobley. Siletz Valley School would like to thank all of our volunteers who have helped us make the last three months a success! In December, we had 76 volunteers who contributed 158 hours. In January, we had 66 volunteers and 122 hours. In February, we had 96 volunteers and 264 hours. We’re very appreciative of the time that you give to the school for a better tomorrow. Thank you! Siletz Valley School is looking for volunteers to help us coach a cheer leading squad. We need coaches to help us during the football and basketball seasons. If you’re interested, please call Lourdes at 541-444-1100. Thank you! SVS Students Receive Awards Siletz Valley School, a newly formed charter school, has a student body of 164 students. On the first Monday of every month at our morning assembly, we select students in grades K-8 to receive awards for attendance, academic achievements, citizenship, and positive behavior. Butler completed his high school career at Reedsport High School in Reedsport, Ore., as the holder of every statistical record for receivers. He was first-team all-state in consecutive seasons for the Braves.
