Luckini, Heaven Perkins, Jamie Ulrich, and Chyana White '»Iso are on the squad. Lourdes Jackson coaches the girls, along with two very appreciated volunteers, Traci and Kyanna Fisher. The cheerleading squad was formed as an elective chosen by students in a survey that Van Peters, school adminis trator, sent to them in October. The girls signed an agreement/contract before starting; they’re role models to many in the school. They have a list of require ments to follow and most important, they have to be accountable and main tain passing grades. On Dec. 8, Siletz Valley School hosted the Toledo #2 team. The girls started pumping up the fans minutes before the game and kept them going right down to the exciting finish. At the end of the third quarter, it was Siletz 32 - Toledo 26. Shot after shot, it was anyone’s game. The Warriors scored four more points, then another two points in the first 30 seconds of the fourth quarter, widening the gap. The Siletz boys definitely had some hustle in them that night that Toledo #2 couldn’t keep up with, winning the game 41-34. As of mid-December, the Warriors had won five games and lost two. The team hosts Toledo #2 again on Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. and hosts Newport #1 on Jan. 8 at 7 p.m. in the final games of the season. Come out and support the Siletz Valley School 8th Grade Boys Bas ketball Team Warriors and the girls Cheerleading Squad!
