LEITERS TO THE EDITOR To the editor: They have made a fisherman’s I bought one in memory of my memorial in Port Orford going down great-grandmother, Jane, and the other toward the dock. They were selling Indians who were lost and moved from bricks to raise money for the memorial. their homes. Jane’s brick is just to the left of the memorial. If you are in Port Orford, it’s a nice place to rest. Wanda Melton To the editor: I would like to talk about my experience riding with a transporter who has road rage and anger problems. We were coming out of Newport and we were in the right lane; a car was in the passing lane and was trying to pass us. The transporter started to go faster and faster. I asked him what he was doing and he said, “I don’t like cars passing me,” and we were road racing this car. I kept telling the transporter to slow down, but he refused. We were side by side. I kept telling him to slow down. We were coming closer to where the lanes merged and I told him to slow down and let the car go by. Finally he did and he was mad. The guy turned around and flipped his middle finger at the transporter. He did this three more times and was flipped off again. Between Eddyville and Toledo, he said that he was going to put on the cruise control at 65 mph and I told him “No.” He got mad and slowed down to 35 mph and purposely held up traffic all the way back. At stoplights, he has no patience. He gets mad and wants to cuss and honk the horn because the vehicle in front of us didn’t move fast enough. I tell him not to do this and he just gets smart at me. He gets distracted by eating or reaching for his drink; he comes very close to rear ending vehicles. I tell him “Watch out” or “Slow down” because he’s going so fast that if I don’t, he would cause a traffic accident. He gets mad at me and yells at me to “Shut up or ride with a different transporter.” I hope that one day, I can ride with a different transporter. I keep asking for a different driver. I have suffered more headaches from riding with this transporter than from having a foot infection from foot to knee; a blood infection; an IV from arm, shoulder to heart; a 103° temperature; a chopped off leg; a broken ankle; and shingles. He caused a wreck and is being sued, and he nearly rear ended a vehicle in Philomath and had to hit the curb. At Bingo, if he loses, he gets mad and throws his daubers and papers all over the floor. There should be zero tolerance when it comes to road rage and anger. I don’t want to be in the vehicle with this type of driver when someone else with road rage meets him.
