Smith Named Superstar for First Quarter of 2002 Logan Smith, F&B Buffet, was chosen as the Superstar of the first quarter of 2002 after a review of the nominations by supervisors and an anonymous vote by line staff. In recognition of his achievement, Logan was presented with a check for $1,000 and a marble tile that will be displayed at the front of the casino. Tribal elders, members of the Gaming Board of Directors, the Siletz Tribal Regulatory Gaming Agency, Chinook Winds directors, and several casino staff members were present at the Superstar ceremony on April 25. To be eligible to receive the Superstar award, an employee must perform his/her duties at a high standard of excellence on a consistent basis. He/she must exhibit above-the-norm internal and external customer service and be a team leader by example. Instances of exemplary performance must be documented. After a person is nominated for the award, the nomination goes through several reviews before the final selection is made. Both casino staff and casino guests can submit Superstar nominations. With more than 700 employees and only four of these awards given each year, it’s a real honor to be chosen as the Superstar. Logan s award was based on two customer nominations and his impressive history at the casino. He has been nominated several times and is well thought of by co-workers, supervisors, and customers. One customer said, "I would like to nominate him for the highest award the casino can grant. Logan is the best!" Supervisors consider him outstanding in customer service and teamwork.
