With only $5 invested. Harrison couldn’t believe her eyes and ears when it became clear that she had won the amazing jackpot. She thought she had won 4,000 quarters, or $1,000, until a person sitting nearby told her she had won more than $600,000. Harrison attributed her good fortune to her grandson, Jacob, whom she had kissed earlier in the day and asked to give her luck. Spring Poker League Chinook Winds Events Here’s your chance to learn to play poker - no previous experience needed. A 10-week Poker League has been set up at Chinook Winds Casino. Saturday Poker Tournaments Get ready for the Saturday Poker Tournaments this April! Buy-in is $20. First place pays $300; second place, $100; third place, $40 buy-in for a “live” game in the Poker Room. Prizes are based on four full tournaments each Saturday. Each tournament will consist of 15 hands of Poker, with a limit raise every five hands. Registration begins April 1. Chinook Winds and she normally plays the Wheel of Fortune machines. This time, the trip paid for itself! “Go Coastal” Slot Tournaments Win up to $1.000 in Chinook Winds “Go Coastal” free Slot Tournaments the third Wednesday of each month through May! The next tournament will be held April 17. Entry begins at 10 a.m. and again at 5 p.m. Five-minute rounds will happen every 20 minutes beginning at 10:20 a.m., continuing to noon, and again beginning at 5:20 p.m., continuing through 7 p.m. The winner of each round will compete in the “prize round” held at 7:30 p.m. Rogue River Lounge Expands Entertainment On March 18, Chinook Winds Casino’s Rogue River Lounge introduced “Ladies Night Out,” which takes place every Monday from 9 p.m. to midnight. The theme is pure “retro” with DJ Brian Timme, “Metalman and The Crew,” turning out the best tunes from the ‘50s through the ‘80s. Ladies are invited to enjoy special half-price appetizers, $1-off well drinks, and the happy hour price on all draft beer. Celebrity Star Search Karaoke began again on Feb. 27 and will continue every Wednesday evening. The nine-week contest requires that the performer dress the part of the singer whose song they perform. Each week. one person will qualify to be a finalist in the Celebrity Sing-Off, which occurs at the end of this nine-week session. For those who do not wish to compete but love to sing, the mic is open! Contest concludes on April 24 with a “sing-off.” All eight previous weekly winners will compete for the $3(M) grand prize. It’s time to show appreciation to the many members of the community who work directly in the hospitality industry. Hospitality Appreciation Nights are Sunday through Thursday from 9 p.m. to midnight.
