Silent bidding will begin immediately and final awards will be made Dec. 1 during the annual Christmas ball. The third annual “Song of the Angels” Christmas tree auction, dinner, and ball is sponsored by Angels Anonymous. Trees will be decorated starting Nov. 28 at noon. Sponsors have until noon on Nov. 29 to finish their trees and have them ready for viewing. Viewing and bidding will continue on Nov. 29 and 30, with the finals during the evening of Dec. 1. The local Boy Scout troop will deliver the auctioned trees to the lucky bidders for a small charge. Tickets for the holiday ball are on sale at the Lincoln City Visitors and Convention Bureau and the Lincoln City Chamber of Commerce. Tickets for the ball and plated dinner are $50. A table of eight may be purchased for the discounted price of $350. Angels Anonymous is in its third year of providing immediate and basic services for those in need living in north Lincoln County. Survivor Thursdays in Rogue River Lounge Brush up on your survival instincts to compete in Survivor Thursdays in the Rogue River Lounge upstairs at Chinook Winds Casino. Each Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m., tickets will be given to customers who want to compete in the Survivor Party 2001. Guests will sign their name on the back of the ticket and deposit it in the tribal pot at the hostess station. When the TV show “Survivor” is over ... let the games begin! Contestants’ names will be drawn from the tribal pot. Two teams of three people each will approach the dance floor: Tribe 1 - The Kumungee and Tribe 2 -The Batoogo. Each team will determine the order in which their members will compete against the other tribe. After the selection is determined, Bawana, master of the “great challenge wheel,” will spin it. One member from each tribe will then either complete the challenge or forfeit his/her position and retire. Challenges will be held until one member of each tribe is left. Challenges will consist of the following: Chinook Sling Swing, Spam Shake, Rogue River Water, Limpy Lemons, Insect Surprise, Blind Man’s Bluff, Mango Tango, and Pinching Partners. Challenges will continue until one contestant remains. This person will win an elected seat on the tribal council and a special edition collector’s T-shirt. Special seating will be available for all “Survivor” tribal council members for the final “Survivor” show. Find out if you’re a survivor on Thursdays at Chinook Winds Casino. $50,000 Single Deck Blackjack Tournament Mannie Schock from Carlton, Ore., wins a 1965 Mustang during Surf City 2001 in September. If you’re looking for hot tournament action, join us Nov. 9-10 for the $50,000 Single Deck Blackjack Tournament. Entry fees are $250 for the buy-in or $300 for the buy-in and lodging at a nearby Lincoln City motel (based on availability). All participants will receive a free tournament polo shirt. Each player starts with $500 in tournament chips and is allowed three re-buys at $30 each. Registration is at 10 a.m. on Nov. 9, with tournament action beginning at 11 a.m. each day. There will be 100 percent payback of all entry fees collected. Prize money is based on full participation of 168 players. Prizes are first place, $20,000; second place, $13,000; third place, $7,300; fourth place, $4,800; fifth place, $2,300; sixth place, $1,600; and seventh place, $1,000.
