Congratulations to Rachael Lane on
the birth of her baby daughter, Lacey
Cassandra Lane, on Feb. 19, 2000.

Marissa Marzan, daughter of John and
Maryanne Marzan, and granddaughter of the
late Mary Marzan and the late John Marzan,
is co-captain of the Bullard High softball team
in Fresno, Calif. As a junior this year, she
pitched five no-hitters and hit over .600.
Early in the season, Marzan threw
three straight perfect games to tie a state
record. Her four consecutive no-hitters tied
a league record. She had 38 straight
victories this season.
Only three batters out of 172 managed
to get a hit off Marzan, who was named a
preseason All-American by the National
Fastpitch Coaches Association. In 54
innings, she did not allow a run, struck out
110, walked one, and hit three.
As a sophomore, she was 17-0 with a
0.21 ERA and 190 strikeouts in 129 innings.
