Siletz Indian Housing Authority Page 6 JOB ANNOUNCEMENTS NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed bids for the Housing Rehabilitation Projects for the Siletz Indian Housing Authority will be received by Siletz Indian Housing Authority, 555 Tolowa Court, Siletz, Oregon until 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 21, 1998. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud thereafter. Project scop includes, but not limited to: Painting, reroofing, patio door installation, smoke detectors, wood stoves, fencing, flooring, patios, site lighting, pathway paving, and other miscellaneous work. Project site includes 54 single family dwellings on Rogue River Court, Chetco Court, Shasta Court, Tootootney Court located on Indian trust land in Siletz, Oregon. Bids are invited from qualified Indian and non-Indian owned general contractors, The contract will be awarded in accordance with the Indian Preference Policy of the Siletz Indian Housing Authority. For this project, only the qualified Indian bidders are entitled to Indian preference. Information regarding the requirements for qualification of the Contractors and the details of the amount of preference to be given to the qualified Indian bidders are available from the Siletz Indian Housing Authority. No bids will be considered unless fully completed in the manner provided in the Instruction to Bidders upon the official bid form provided by the Architects and accompanied by an unconditional certified check or a bid bond executed in favor of Siletz Indian Housing Authority in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount of the bid, to be forfeited as fixed and liquidated damages should the bidder fail or neglect to enter into a contract and provided suitable bond for the faithful performance of the work in the event the contract is awarded. Also required to accompany bids: Completed copy of Non-collusive Affidavit, forms available from Architect. Completed copy of Certification of Minority Business Enterprise Program. The successful Bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds or Bonds, or other assurance of completion as indicated in HUD Form 5369, Instruction to Bidders. Position will cover 11-county service area from Multnomah to Lane County & west to the coast. Travel is required. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with clients, co- workers, supervisors, banks and other finance institutions, governmental agencies, businesses, and the general public; Experience with developing and implementing policies and procedures; Demonstrated ability to follow directions and complete assigned tasks within specified deadlines without constant supervision; Must be able to adhere to the confidentiality of information and individuals as described in the CTSI Personnel Manual; Experience in drafting correspondence and preparing reports; Cultural awareness of the unique needs of Native American families; Must possess a valid Oregon State driver's license.
