2 # PRINT-News Wednesday,January 22,2014 Oregon Transfer Day comes to campus trahsfer making your future happen CLACKAMAS C O M M U N IT Y COLLEGE Thursday, January 23,2014 Gregory Forum, 10 a.m.-l p.m. Meet with College and University Representatives to Leant More About Transferring to Their Schools DonnyBeach News Editor C lackam as Com m unity College is hosting the Oiegon Transfer Day event on Thursday, Jan. 23 in the Gregory Forum from 10 a.m. - 1p.m. The annual event happens at all 17 community colleges across the state. Representatives from 33 universities? will be on cam pus to meet with students who are planning on transferring to four-year universities or who are looking into doing so. A represen tative' from the Ford Foundation Scholarship will also be on site to answer questions, Gwenda Oshiro, academic advisor, said that the event is an excellent opportunity for students to connect with colleges and learn about requirements. ‘‘Every transfer student should go to Transfer Day,” Oshiro said. P. J. Martineau, academic advisor, said representatives are eager to share information about their schools and students should take- advantage o f their willing ness. “ [We] want students to see their options,” Martineau said, “and find the best fit for their personal goals.” Having the event on campus saves students from having to travel to other institutions that interest them, said Martineau. ‘fit’s a wealth o f knowledge on campus,” Martineau said. Jordan Leonetti, who is in his last year at CCC, is look ing at Oregon State University to complete his business degree and plans to attend the event for the information on scholarship opportunities and deadlines. ' Last term, Clackamas Community i College added a second shuttle to its service, to keep up with demand. Now, as o f Jan. 9, that Auxiliary shuttle will be running until 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and making stops at the Harmony campus. The primary shuttle will continue to run on the original schedule Monday through Thursday until 3:35 p.m.? on Fridays until 11:25 a.m. Brenda Marks, Who oversees student life and leadership, said students on the Harmony cafflpus needed easier access. Under the old schedule, a stu dent would still need to walk about 15 minutes in the elements to get to class after arriving at the town center. The new schedule is posted on the school website, at the bus turn-around on the Oregon City campus and can be picked up in theASG office, CC152.
