College is hosting the Oiegon
Transfer Day event on Thursday,
Jan. 23 in the Gregory Forum
from 10 a.m. - 1p.m.
The annual event happens at
all 17 community colleges across
the state. Representatives from
33 universities? will be on cam
pus to meet with students who
are planning on transferring to
four-year universities or who are
looking into doing so. A represen
tative' from the Ford Foundation
Scholarship will also be on site to
answer questions,
Gwenda Oshiro, academic
advisor, said that the event is an
excellent opportunity for students
to connect with colleges and learn
about requirements.
‘‘Every transfer student should
go to Transfer Day,” Oshiro said.
P. J. Martineau, academic
advisor, said representatives are
eager to share information about
their schools and students should
take- advantage o f their willing
ness.
“ [We] want students to see
their options,” Martineau said,
“and find the best fit for their
personal goals.”
Having the event on campus
saves students from having to
travel to other institutions that
interest them, said Martineau.
‘fit’s a wealth o f knowledge on
campus,” Martineau said.
Jordan Leonetti, who is in
his last year at CCC, is look
ing at Oregon State University
to complete his business degree
and plans to attend the event for
the information on scholarship
opportunities and deadlines.
