Or go out for a night of drink ing in Scottish pubs? Well now, with the college’s History Travel Club, you can. The History Travel Club is venturing on a 19-day trip to the British Isles, scheduled for the summer of 2007. The trip will include Scotland, Ireland, Wales, England and a possible seven- day extension trip to France. This will be the third over seas adventure sponsored by the History Travel Club. The first was a Britannia tour, including Ireland, Wales and Scotland. The second was a little more on the linguistically challenging side, hitting Paris, London and Rome. Currently sponsored by Go Ahead Tours, the trip is tenta tively priced at around $4,000, which will include admissions, hotel costs, transportation, break fasts and some dinners. Lunches and the rest of the dinners will be up to the individual, to make for a more personalized vacation. Melissa O’Neil, the club president, has several fundrais ing ideas which she plans to implement including an arts and crafts booth to be set up just outside the cafeteria in Bill Brod Community Center. The Easter Bunnies, as O’Neil and her friends call themselves, sell scented soaps and oils, and will be selling homemade Mother’s Day cards on May 10, 11 and 12. They are a highly motivated club and have other ideas for fundraising as well. Femcare Nursery donated sapling trees for the club’s tree sale last Thursday and Friday, and there are still more fundrais ing groups in the making. Fundraising covered around a third of each student’s vacation costs for the Paris, London and Rome tour, according the club’s Faculty Advisor Jackie Flowers. This year, however, the amount of fundraising money to go to each student will be dictated by how much effort they put into helping earn money for die trip. The History Travel Club is open to all students who are interested in going on the trip, or who simply want to help out with the fundraising effort. The trip is open up until 60 days before the scheduled departure date. The club meets every other Thursday at 3 p.m. in McLoughlin 206. There are only three remaining meetings for this term, with potential sum mer meetings pending. They will meet on May 4, 18 and June 1. For more information, feel free to attend club meetings, or contact Flowers at (503) 657- 6958 ext. 2345.
