Feature editor Karen Hill attend ed seminars suited to her position and plans to share the information she learned with next term’s writers. “I really enjoyed the feature writ ing clinics,” said Hill. “1 learned some really useful techniques for writing stories and interviewing that I can take back to the paper.” This was Hill’s first time in Las Vegas and she wasn’t disappointed. * ‘The whole experience was just surreal. The lights, the buildings the money—like nothing I’ve ever seen before,” she said. Journalism Adviser Linda Vogt encouraged as many student editors to attend the convention as possible, as she knew it would be a valuable experience. “It’s always refreshing to go to a national college newspaper confer ence and see how Clackamas Print stacks up against other two and four-year college papers,” said Vogt. “Once again, I felt proud of our program here and of the stu dent editors who work so hard to create a quality newspaper! The ses sions were excellent and we all came away inspired. “And, of course ... it was a won derful opportunity for all of us— experiencing the wacky culture of Las Vegas and getting to soak up some Nevada sunshine.” (LEFT) Lauren Vuisteke and Cory Price visit with an advisor from Edmonds Community College.
