Hood CC. The Cougars took on Chemeketa CC in a home double header on Tuesday, losing both games by scores of 1-0 and 10-2. Aaron Shanks pitched the first game of the doubleheader, throw ing six strong innings in the 1-0 loss. Although CCC had seven hits, they couldn’t put together any rallies to give Shanks any sup port. Chemeketa got their single run in the third inning and made it hold up with solid pitching and good defense. Chemeketa brought out the big sticks in the nightcap, scoring four first-inning runs enroute to the 10- 2 victory. “The second game was totally unlike the first,” quoted Head Coach Robin Robinson. “We just sort of gave up after that first in ning. We showed a little effort, but we were pretty drained after the first game, and we didn’t bring a good effort.” Saturday, the Cougars took on Mt. Hood CC in Gresham. Clackamas got outstanding pitch ing efforts from Shanks and Luke Hol scher, but CCC lost both ends of the doubleheader, 4-3 and 4-2. “Shanks and Holscher pitched great games. Aaron has been solid all season, and he just gave an other outstanding effort,” said Robinson. “Luke had a rough start flfrt e oacn Robin Robinson looks on with several of his players during last week's game with Chemeketa held on the ac amas campus.
