The Clackamas Print Wednesday, February 12, 1997 ÆLE Dante’s Peak’ expl 7 Jonathan Roberts A&E Editor So you want to go to the movie theater. And you don’t want to wait in line for an hour and a half to see “Star Wars.” Right now in theaters across America there is a movie that is not getting the credit it deserves, that movie is “Dante’s Peak.” When I went to see “Dante’s Peak” I was expect ing to see “Twister” minus tornados plus a volcano. Boy was I wrong. ‘Dante’s Peak’ is similar to “Twister” in that it deals with a natural disaster and has cool special effects. But that is were the similarities end. “Dante’s Peak” has a good story and some very cred ible acting by two very good actors. Pierce Brosnan plays a volcanologist who is sent to the little town of Dante’s Peak to “check up” on a volcano resting above the sleepy little town. Linda Hamilton plays the town’s mayor. This movie really hits home for those of us who lived through the L inda H amilton ,- above , Mt. St. Helens eruption of 1980.
