The first one-act play, a melo drama called “The Banker’s Di lemma” or “How the Famous Dollop and Trippington Railroad Came to Botts, California,” will be performed on Dec. 6 at 12:30 p.m. It was written by Cleve Haubold, and is being directed by Howard Smith “I want to make the audience laugh,” Smith said. The cast includes William Andersen, Rosemary Charters, Franklin Cline and Heather Rowley; the crew includes John Rice, Howard Smith and Matt Russell. This old-fashioned melo drama includes a villain, a hero ine, an invaluable helper and a possible hero. It shows that you don’t have to be perfect to be of value to others. “By the virtue of it being what it is, we’re going to take the comedy aspects to the limit we can take it,” Smith said. “I don’t want to do it for me...it’s just something I wanted to do.” The second one-^act play, “Don Juan, Man of Seville,” was written by student Trent Tidwell, and is being directed by Melody Muth. It will be performed Dec. 8 at noon. The cast includes Matt Russell, Trent Tidwell, Rae Coo per and Jen Johnson. “It’s a really good play; re ally well-written,” Muth said. OATC donors achieve funds by Jesse Sowa Staff Writer A three-year fund raiser was completed this summer to collect funds for the recently-finished Clatkamas Community College Wilsonville/Oregon Advanced Technology Center. Nearly $2.7 million was col lected to help pay for items to fur nish the new building. The funds collected include the donation of land by Tektronix to construct the center on. Tektronix donated the land in 1988, and a levy was passed by Clackamas County vot ers in 1989 to pay for the con struction. . 9 More that $2.5 million worth of instructional equipment was either donated or loaned by the OATC industry donors. Those donors include Tektronix, Men tor Graphics, William Brod of Milwaukie, Jack and Ann Lozo Nearly $2.7 million was collected to help pay for items to furnish the new building. According to Assistant to the President for College Advance ment David Dickson, the center was under construction beginning in the fall of 1990, and it took approximately one year to com plete. The campaign to raise funds began soon after and was com pleted in June. Work at the center involves helping small and midsize manu facturing companies with improv ing the quality of their products. The center allows these compa nies to train their employees and test new products. “We have some really good people.” “I just hope that people find the humor in it,” Tidwell said, “but it’s a pretty moral play.
