/Coordinator v # Harry Lee Kwai, coordinator of West Linn's Community School program, was recently named to the State Community Education Advisory Committee. Lee Kwai will represent community education coordinators from throughout the state. Other Clackamas County participants on the committee include: Dr. John Hak- anson, president of Clackamas Community College and Larry Stark, Molalla, presi dent of the Oregon Community Educa tion Association. Thomas appointed Judy Thomas, project coordinator for the Clackamas Community College Disad- vantaged/Handicapped Occupational Tutor ial Programs, has been appointed to a three- year term on the State Board of Education Ad Hoc Advisory Committee for the Dis advantaged and Handicapped. The advisory committee will look at pro grams for disadvantaged and handicapped persons and will make recommendations for new programs, recommend allocation of money for these programs and discuss prob lems in these areas. "I was chosen for the committee because I have been on two other committees in past years and have worked with a number of the people on this particular committee before," said Thomas. Thomas was on a steering committee and a task force that dealt with problems of the disadvantaged and handicapped in post sec ondary education. She is one of two persons representing community colleges. The ten-member com mittee represents secondary schools, com munity colleges, universities and other agen cies. There will be a $1 registration fee for the workshop to be taught by Mary Ann Pierson of Milwaukie. Pre-registration is requested. To register, call Community Services, 656-2631, ext. 232. Bowlers lose Budget The Clackamas Community Colli I "Decorating on a Budget" is the title of a program to be held at Clackamas Community College Wednesday, Feb. 16, 6 to 8:30 p.m. in the Community Center, room 101. "Pillows, wall hangings, silkscreen hang ings, simple furnishings and lamps can be made by using inexpensive materials," said instructor Deanna Shaffer. Participants will make silkscreens during the workshop. A $2 fee will be charged for the work shop.
