ASG leader announces resignation Associated Student Government President Michael Ayers will officially announce his decision to resign as president of that body during today's student government meeting. In a letter to the Cougar Print editor (see page four) Ayers listed his reasons for step ping down from the post saying that the position of student government president was interfering with his studies. He also said that his commitment to the tennis team and his job were using up too much of his time. ASG Vice-President Charlie Bennett will take over as president of ASG for the re mainder of the year. Committee ivestigates I book I swap' ¡alternative A workshop in neurological nursing is being offered by the Oregon Nurses Associ ation, Saturday, Feb. 5 in the Community Center at Clackamas Community College. Dr. Conrad C. Carter, professor of neuro logy at the University of Oregon Medical School, will be the main speaker. He will also help conduct the workshop. The workshop is designed to give nurses, particularly college health nurses, the chance to acquire practical knowledge for dealing with patients having neurological diseases. Neurological diseases include brain tu mors, head and spinal injuries, seizure dis orders and strokes. The workshop will provide nurses with literature on seizures; teach nurses how to deal with seizures on an emergency basis; teach nurses to recognize the toxic effects of anticonvulsants; and discuss the use of brain scan, EEG and tomography. Also to be discussed informally will be the Continuing Education Approval and Recognition Program (CEARP). The pro gram is intended to help nurses keep up to date on the latest methods of nursing.
