æ Entertainment Blunders rate best Marching band to hit the big time by Bret Hodgert Design Editor Linda Vogt, after one year of advising The Print. Though wire realize that the mental problems created by this job are irreversable, we on “The Print” staff would like to thank Linda Vogt for actually putting up with us the whole year. The “One More Time Around” marching band will be participating in this year’s Rose Festival Parade for the first time. Consisting of college and high school band member alumni, the OMTA is the second largest mar ching band in the nation. The Portland Rose Festival Association and 7-11 started the band three years ago. Miller Brewing Co. has bought out 7-11 and will be sponsoring the mar chers for the next three years. Originally, OMTA marched only in the Starlight Parade, but this year they will also be mar- by Bret Hodgert Entertainment Editor diing in the Rose Festival Parade. The band has earned the position of leading the Queen’s Float. “One More Time Around” has been exempt from marching in the Rose Parade in the past because it didn’t have profes sional uniforms. Miller Brewing Co. has solved this problem by providing the entire 325 member band with new marching togs. OMTA is looking for members to march next year. If you played an instrument or marched in either high school or college and are interested in joining, contact the Portland Rose Festival Association.
