Cougars have potential, lack experience By Christine Warner Of The Print Even though their record, two wins and four losses, is not as good as they would like, the majority of the Clackamas Community College soccer team has a positive attitude. “No team (in the league) is better than we are,” .said third-year player Brian Gorsek. The team does have the potential to be ranked high in the league but thier team work is still weak. “Our timing is off a little bit due to the fact that we didn’t have any preliminary games...it’s just a matter of time before we start winning some games,” Coach Szanto said. Player Rick Townsend said the reason they are losing is because of the fact they only play eighty minutes out of a ninety-minute game. In last week’s game against Green River, Clackamas let up for ten minutes and their oppo nent scored two goals. Clackamas scored their two goals because Coach Szanto said the team was really on the move. Green River won 4-2. After last week’s Steilacoom game was switched to a night game, quite a few players could not come because of their jobs. Clackamas was defeated in what Townsend called a “short-handed loss.” Clackamas’ next game is Wednesday, Oct. 17 against Tacoma Community College in Tacoma. The next home game is Saturday, Oct. 20 against Shoreline Community College at 1 p.m. PASSING THE BALL. Rick Townsend dribbles the ball as he prepares to pass it on to another player in last Saturday’s game played at the College.
