"However, for the players that did turn out I will have a class in which I will try and impart some of my knowledge to get them ready for next year. I also hope to get the team to play some exhibition games against some of the other community col leges," he said. "The biggest problem with this team is that the college couldn't offer scholarships and we simply couldn't get any top-flight athletes from the local area." "As a result, we have players this year who don't have a lot of soccer knowledge or skills." "Another problem is that the college really hasn't provided the support that I would have liked, but that's understandable with all their money problems. "However, I'm expecting a lot of good things for this team next year," Reznevich said. The Clackamas Community College foot ball team renewed its morale last Saturday as they defeated Olympic Community College 21-12. This victory was sorely needed after two poor performances against Spokane Falls and Columbia Basin Community Colleges. "This victory was so sweet because it showed that the confidence we had in our ability to win was not unfounded," said Cougar Coach Gery Gehrmann. As in all victories, this one showed progress Ivan Reznevich in all facets of the Cougar game plan. "As usual, the speciality team played superbly, but the defense showed that it can come through in the clutch and the offense, although only adequate, showed that it could maintain control of the ball and could score," said Gehrmann. As for this Saturday's game against Trea sure Valley, Gehrmann says, "The game is evenly matched going in and I can see no reason why we can't win." Game time is set for 1:30 at Clackamas Community College. ✓ STUCK FOR BUCKS?
