Oregon iu 1818 was one of uine states to ship more than 800,(MO pounds of red clover seed. Only five other states shipped more alsike than Oregon. Only teu other states were in Ore goii's class as a producer of white do- ver aeed. All Willamette valley counties are listed as among the nation'a heavieet producers of red clover sisal. Oregon is the second stute iu the union in acreage devoted to production of onion sets, with average yield of five tons to the acre for 150 acres. Oregon is fourth state ill production of onion seeds with average yield of 330 pounds to the nere for 00 acres. Oregon ia second only to California in average yield per aero of snap bcun seed. Oregon leads the entire union in av erage yield per ucre of garden pea seed. Oregon ranks first in Hvcrngc yield per acre of pumpkin seed and squash seed. Oregon is highest by 45 per cent in average yield per nere of spinueh seed. Multnomah is one of the leading counties of the entire nation in pro duetion of garden pen seed, sweet corn seed, cabbage aeed, carrot seed, ouion seed, turnip seed and parsnip seed. Marion is one of the leading conn ties ill the nntion ill the production of garden pole bean seed, sweet corn seed, mangel beet seed and turnip aeed. Yamhill, 1’ olk, Benton, Marion, Linn and l.ane are among the loading coun ties of the entire nation in production of snap bean seed. Washington, Clackamas and Mnrion are among the leading euuiitiea of the nation in production of onion seeds and onion sets. They have lost but one game this season and can safely lay claim to the championship. Mrs. Beebe Oets Letter from Husband. Mrs. L. C. Beebe has at Inst received a letter from her husband, Captain Beebe, still in France. This i* the f i r -*t letter she has received in several months, but she received two cable- grams a week or so ago, which were the first word she had received in over three months.
