There were five gallons o f the volatile fluid, being one gallon for every five years she has spent upon this mun dane sphere, but this fact ia supposed to be just as dark and deep a mystery as the disappearance o f the birthday pres ent, which disappeared the day after its receipt. When Miss Kinsey left the party the evening of the party it is reported that she was embarrassed by the aumlx-r who wished to see that the fluid was taken home in safety and it is said that one of the eligible bachelors who got the cold shoulder threatened dire vengeance. Several local detectives are on his trail and it is likely that before the affair is • settled someone is going to be occupying a cold and clammy eell in the city jail — providing the owner o f the gasoline doesn’t relent in her determination to deal out fitting punishment to the guilty party. SCHOOL TEACHER KEEPS SECRET OVER TWO MONTHS Anyone who thinks a woman cannot keep a secret is respectfully referred to the fact that Mrs. Ronald Lynn Voorhees, who has had the right to use that namo since January 3, has lieen going by her maiden name of Mi-s Patti Orr, and the secret would not have been exposed but for the fact that Mr. Voor hees decided to visit his wife here this week. The wedding took place nt Puy allup, Wash., while the bride was vis iting there at the home o f her bus- band’s parents during the Christmas vacation. GERMAN GAS MASK BEARS BLOOD OF HUN VICTIM Mrs. Henry Selde received yesterday two of the gas masks used by the Ger mans on the west front. They are much different from those used by the Amer icans and are on exhibition for n few- days in The Sentinel window.
