DETECTIVES ON SCENT OF
PURLOINERS OF GASOLINE
Mystery dark and deep surrounds the
disappearance of five gallons of gaso
line which was given Miss Georgia Kin
sey as a birthday present by the Joker
club. There were five gallons o f the
volatile fluid, being one gallon for every
five years she has spent upon this mun
dane sphere, but this fact ia supposed
to be just as dark and deep a mystery as
the disappearance o f the birthday pres
ent, which disappeared the day after
its receipt.
When Miss Kinsey left the party the
evening of the party it is reported that
she was embarrassed by the aumlx-r who
wished to see that the fluid was taken
home in safety and it is said that one
of the eligible bachelors who got the
cold shoulder threatened dire vengeance.
Several local detectives are on his trail
and it is likely that before the affair is •
settled someone is going to be occupying
a cold and clammy eell in the city jail
— providing the owner o f the gasoline
doesn’t relent in her determination to
deal out fitting punishment to the guilty
party.
