Mr. Lyons is a native of Illinois, attended schools in that state and in Indiana and graduated from a college in Florida. He taught in Florida before coming to Oregon eran. He is married and has one daughter. Lucile Denney, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Denney, has been elected editor of the Crescent, the school annual for this year, and is reported doing a fine job. Miss Lois Evenson's Letter Is Reviewed CRESWELL- A pleasant after noon was spent January 13 at the home of Mrs. J. E. Smith, when a group of friends consisting of Mrs. O. I’. Nordling of Eugene; Mrs. K. B. Melton and Mrs. F. A. Everson met and reviewed letters writ ten to them by Miss Lois Everson of Fort Dodge, Iowa, sis- ter of Mrs_ Nordling and sister- in-law of Mrs. Everson. Miss Everson, who made her home in Creswell for many years and now- conducts her studio for organ and piano students in Fort Dodge, with a close friend, have recently returned from an extended trip through Europe and the letters told all about their experiences. Miss Everson will relate more of her travels in letters yet to come. Refreshments were served by the hostess. SCC Meets With New Officers Presiding CRESWELL The Sisterhood of the Church of Christ met Jw uary 12 at the church with the officers for the new year presid- ing. They are: President, Mrs. Clarence Sunkier; vice president, Mrs. Loyd Wheeler; secretary, Mrs. William Homer; treasurer, Mrs. Minnie Henriksen. The group decided to send used greeting cards to the Fairview Home in Salem. Mi’s. Sunkier was presented with a flowering shrub in appreciation for her services as president last year.
