Austermann, acting commander of the 13th Coast Guaid district, in a recent state ment urged pleasure inat opera tors to exercise extreme caution during the coming boat season in the Pacific Northwest. Cap. Austermann stated that boating accidents occurring in the 1952 boating season had increased over the 1951 season to a very considerable extent, and he added, unless proper knowledge and caie are taken while boating this com ing summer the percentage of ac cidents and casualties may go even higher. It is hoped especially to have reunions of the classes of Tl and '13. It will be the 40th anniver sary of the class of T3. Any student or teacher who at tended school in Cottage Grove between 1900 and 1914 is cor dially invited. Rte. would be ap preciated. The first reunion was a most enjoyable affair. Mr. and Mrs George Quimby and her mother, Mrs. Fannie Wat kins, went to Yoncalla Friday to visit an aunt of Mrs. Quimby, Mrs. Ella Watkins. The latter, who used to live at Curtin, has sold her home in Yoncalla and will move to Roseburg whole she will board at a private home. She is now 89. Her husband was Ben Watkins. Mr. and Mrs. Roy Hanks of Mosby Creek visited at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Yearous Saturday evening. Mr. and Mrs. G. P. McClana han of Grants Pass will spend Thursday night with her sister, Mrs. Mable Baker, who will ac company them to Salem on Fri day. The McClanahans will attend the "Ham” Radio Convention. Mrs. Baker will visit friends over the week end. Mrs. Homer (Nancy) McClana han, who was involved in an auto mobile wreck in October, will go from her home in Grants Pass to Sacred Heart hospital in Medford to be under the care of a bone specialist.
