Cap. W. J. Austermann, acting
commander of the 13th Coast
Guaid district, in a recent state
ment urged pleasure inat opera
tors to exercise extreme caution
during the coming boat season in
the Pacific Northwest.
Cap. Austermann stated that
boating accidents occurring in the
1952 boating season had increased
over the 1951 season to a very
considerable extent, and he added,
unless proper knowledge and caie
are taken while boating this com
ing summer the percentage of ac
cidents and casualties may go
even higher.

and her mother, Mrs. Fannie Wat
kins, went to Yoncalla Friday to
visit an aunt of Mrs. Quimby,
Mrs. Ella Watkins. The latter,
who used to live at Curtin, has
sold her home in Yoncalla and
will move to Roseburg whole she
will board at a private home. She
is now 89. Her husband was Ben
Watkins.

Mosby Creek visited at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Everett Yearous
Saturday evening.
