Mr, Schrenk said that the action follows WPB policy of discounting controls and priorities assistance as reduced military procurement results in generally improved sup plies of materials for civilian use. The copper wire program was ended on September 10, and the county committee no longer is is suing copper wire allotment certi ficates for farmstead wiring. Cer- tiflcartes issued before’ that date must be used within 10 days of the date of issuance. The farm lumber program is now on a curtailed basis, and will be discontinued entirely on Oc tober 1. Until that date, county committees will issue farmers' lumber certificates for only main tenance, repair and operating pur poses, or in emergency cases. Aho discontinued in the issu ance of preference rating certifi cates for farm engines. Production controls have been droppe-d, and ratings are no longer necessary to obtain engines. WPB’s construction limitation order L-41 remains in effect, and farm applications for construction costing more than $1000 for a farm house and $1000 for farm service buildings will continue to be filed with the county commit tee, Mr. Schrenk said. These reductions are in line with Greyhound’s policy of providing the finest transportation service at the. lowest possible fares. Dean Johnson, president of the West Coast Lumber Association, announced Saturday that the as sociation office would be moved from Seattle to Portland * next year, indicating that the lumber industry is moving south into Ore gon.
