coast to coast 10,019 U. 8. defense
postal savings stamps of $1.IX>
each and w ill present them, w ith
a posted savings stump album, to
employes as the firs t step in an
e ffo rt to rai*e $1,000,000 among
the company employes fo r nation­
al defenw.
It was the largest wholesale,
purchase of postal savings s tn m r*
Io dale anil is expected to lx- fo l­
lowed by s im ila r purchases by
other large concerns fo r th e ir em­
ployes. The stamps and albums
w ill lx- distribu te d im m ediately to
the Tide W ater Associated O il
company’s employe». The em­
ployes w ill be encouraged to p u r­
chase additional stamps to f ill the
albums to the S7S.00 level needed
to exchange them fo r U. S. de­
fense bonds, Series E. which in 10
years w ill have a value of $100.
