James A. Smith. Presbyterian minister, officiating. Burial was made in (he Masonic-I.O.O.F. cemetery. Death came to Mrs. 1*0118 last Saturday evening at 1243 Jef- fenon street. She was one of the pioneers of this section and had moved to Oregon in a covered wagon in IWO. She had resided here continuously «Ince that time and soon would have lived in this section sixty years. Subordinate grange officers of Lane Pomona, about 150. were in attendance at an afternoon and night meeting at Eugene Satur- day. Prominent state officers of the grange including Ray. W Gill. master. Morton Tompkins, over seer; Bertha J. Beck, state sec retary, and Lecturer Thiesen and others of the state grange were on hand. This meeting was for the pur- pose of instructing the subordin ate officers in the rites of the grange. At the meeting Saturday night the fifth and sixth degrees were conferred and those taking the work will be eligible to enter the seventh degree which will be con- ferred at the annual national convention of grange at Portland in November. ------------------------ Mosby Creek (Special) Rufus Rawlings, pioneer Mosby Creek resident, and Cora J.
