10 community april7 2016 Oregon Realty Has New Office, New Broker The Oregon Realty office in Vernonia has moved to a new location, although it’s just a half block away and across the street. Formerly located at 825 Bridge Street, realtors Steve Calhoun and Shawn Gibson have moved a short distance and are now located at 884 Bridge Street, between the Cattails and Herons shop and Vernonia’s Natural Choice. The new office is currently being remodeled, but Calhoun and Gibson are set up, working, and open for business. The Oregon Realty office is pleased to welcome a new broker to their new space and team. Jennifer Sohler has returned to the real estate field after a short hiatus and is excited to help new clients. “I want to be here for the peo- ple,” says Sohler. “I want to be the person that can help people understand their transaction. I have a lot of knowl- edge and a lot of experience, but for me it’s about helping people and having a heart.” Formerly Jennifer Randal, Sohler took a few years off when the real estate market crashed. A Vernonia resident who owns an investment property here and recently joined the Free Wheelers club, Sohler is especially comfortable working with farm properties, vacation properties, commercial properties, and 1031 Exchanges, and has worked from Oregon City to the coast. She has a special interest in older homes and has a Historic Certification, which knowledgeable with the Forest Grove gives her extra expertise with older area, having grown up there, but is also homes and properties. Boutwell has been teaching Grace Fine Arts classes for three years. This year she added an adult class and now includes students who range in age from 6-60. Students will create two pieces of art in each class, one they get to keep and one they will donate to the auction. Following her cancer battle, she earned her real estate license in 2008 and won Rookie of the Year with John L. Scott. “Everybody needs to make mon- ey, but for me real estate is not all about the money,” says Sohler. “I love hearing people’s stories and learning about the history of properties.
