Oregon Realty Has New Office, New Broker
The Oregon Realty office in
Vernonia has moved to a new location,
although it’s just a half block away and
across the street.

Formerly located at 825 Bridge
Street, realtors Steve Calhoun and Shawn
Gibson have moved a short distance and
are now located at 884 Bridge Street,
between the Cattails and Herons shop
and Vernonia’s Natural Choice.

The new office is currently being
remodeled, but Calhoun and Gibson are
set up, working, and open for business.

The Oregon Realty office is
pleased to welcome a new broker to their
new space and team. Jennifer Sohler
has returned to the real estate field after
a short hiatus and is excited to help new
clients.

“I want to be here for the peo-
ple,” says Sohler. “I want to be the
person that can help people understand
their transaction. I have a lot of knowl-
edge and a lot of experience, but for me
it’s about helping people and having a
heart.”

Formerly Jennifer Randal, Sohler
took a few years off when the real estate
market crashed. A Vernonia resident
who owns an investment property here
and recently joined the Free Wheelers
club, Sohler is especially comfortable
working with farm properties, vacation
properties, commercial properties,
and 1031 Exchanges, and has worked
from Oregon City to the coast. She
has a special interest in older homes
and has a Historic Certification, which knowledgeable with the Forest Grove
gives her extra expertise with older area, having grown up there, but is also
homes and properties. She is especially comfortable working in the Vernonia

kids could see concretely
what the money can buy
for a specific child. With
CASA, we have a lot of
foster kids here in Vernonia
– some of my students go
to school with foster kids
- and there aren’t a lot of
CASA’s available.”

A representative
from CASA for Children
of Multnomah, Washing-
ton, & Columbia Counties
will be on hand at the auc-
tion for anyone interested in learning more about
this program that assists local children.

Boutwell has been teaching Grace Fine
Arts classes for three years. This year she added an
adult class and now includes students who range in
age from 6-60. Students will create two pieces of
art in each class, one they get to keep and one they
will donate to the auction. All of the students’ art
will be on display at the show.

“Some of them are really starting to devel-
op their skills and I thought it would be nice to take
it to the next level,” explains Boutwell. “They have
this gift and it’s most effective when they share it;
that’s what art is about.”

area, having lived here and raised her
children Ashley, Mathew and Adam
Randal, here.

“I just love Vernonia and I see
great opportunity here,” says Sohler. “I
love to find properties and help people
see and realize their vision and dreams.”

Sohler worked in the medical
field for over twenty years before be-
ing diagnosed with, and beating, cancer.
Following her cancer battle, she earned
her real estate license in 2008 and won
Rookie of the Year with John L. Scott.

“Everybody needs to make mon-
ey, but for me real estate is not all about
the money,” says Sohler. “I love hearing
people’s stories and learning about the
history of properties. It’s really become
about a lot more than just real estate for
me.”
