in other words Creature Comforts: Large Animal Feed By Michal Smith Many of you recently learned that Vernonia Hardware is no longer going to carry large animal feeds but rather Creatures pet store is! We are very excited to branch out in this way and at the same time excited to see all the wonderful new hardware and supplies that will be brought into the Vernonia Hardware Store in all that new space. Several of you have already expressed concern over this change and of not knowing what Creatures can offer. So, to put some minds at ease, we will be carrying 40# and 50# bags of many of the same brands the hardware store carried including the ever popular Equis and CHS. We currently stock Buxton Feeds which are non GMO and milled in Buxton OR; Beaver brand which is milled in McMinnville, OR; Haystack brand which is milled in Culver, OR as well as some Payback, Nutri-Lux, Alleg- ra, Albers and Grainland brands. Yes, we have: chicken layer pellet, crumble, chick start, water fowl and all-purpose poultry feed, 5 and 6 grain scratch, corn and wheat scratch, oyster shell, grit, cracked corn, rolled oats, rolled barley, beet pulp pellets, rice bran, alfalfa pel- lets, hog feeds, senior horse feeds, fat horse feed, wet and dry cob, all- breed livestock feed, flax seeds, DE and more! It’s always a good idea to be sure IN ADVANCE that we have the feed you need, so I encourage you to stop by and take a look prior to the last feed from the bag. If we don’t have it, we can probably get it or something very comparable. For pal- let orders please allow two weeks for Changes to Flood Insurance Rules continued from page 8 homes on whether or not they are built in compliance. On the flip side, several years ago the federal government made mortgage lenders require that property owners purchase flood insurance on not just the primary residence on a property but also for any outbuildings. That rule also changed in May of 2015 and property owners are no longer required to insure outbuildings, unless it is part of a business. This is another change that many NFIP policy holders are not aware of. Moldovan-Tujillo says her agency is able to help consumers navigate the confusing world of flood insurance and assist with exploring mitigation options. “We write private flood insurance but we take it a step further and also help them with their federal policies.” “It’s important for people who live in areas that have flooding issues to know about these changes to the federal programs,” says Moldovan-Tujillo. “I like to give hope to people who own homes.” e rm an DM D Vernonia Dental .
