community news Church News and Events By Mark Brown Hey Vernonia, Please allow me to say Happy Mother’s Day, and thank you for your love. Although you will be reading this as a belated recognition--it is written the day of. I remember when the idea of a Christian News article first came to be. You may have gathered I’m a big sup- porter of not just unity within the indi- vidual churches but in a larger sense of the meaning. I am not suggesting that the churches do not get along, so please do not read that into this. I be- lieve each church is trying to be obe- dient to God and have impact into our community that will have eternal impact on people’s lives; Go is the answer to the question(s)!= I thank each of you. I will continue to pray and work to that end with the hope we will be more visible in our community as “The Church”--meeting you where you are! Working side by side to change lives and develop relationships with no expecta- tions other than to the best of our ability, love you with the hope that you are able to see past us and see Jesus. I know many times you can see through this, it is not because we desire to be seen as Un-Christian and be la- beled hypocrites. I do not want to miss- represent Jesus, but I do at times; I am sure of that. If I have, I am asking now for your forgiveness. I would never with intent or malice do so. It was the hope of the creator of this to bring you news within the faith based Christ following community to the community at large. As a person who is deeply involved with one of the Better Parenting: 4. Mom could encourage Brian in oth- er ways. When Brian figures out a math problem, mom could say something like, “I knew you would get it if you stuck to it.” continued from page 11 busy with them. The child who gives up wants to be left alone. Use your feelings as a guide. Do you feel annoyed? If so, it’s probably about attention. If I you feel like giving up yourself, it is prob- ably helplessness. 2012 behavior I will call “thinking errors.” For each of these “thinking errors” re- garding the four goals of misbehavior does have a flip side - a positive belief that can be developed to lead to better behavior. We will address this next time. Senior Center Activities contact the Senior Center for an appli- cation.
