Amplifier Attend The Annual Tea May IO WEST LINN, OREGON Vol. 23, No. 11 Performers to Honor Queen at Festival Welcome To Our 30 th May Day Friday, May 6, 1949 Royal Court To Reign Over May Fete Queen-elect Eleanor I, accom panied by an endless parade of attractive princesses, will step to her throne in the center of the campus to be crowned by Prime Minister Tony Kissel as queen of May Day, 1949. After the corona tion at I p. m., the boys quartet will sing “Sweet Eleanora” in dedication to the queen and her court. For the entertainment of Queen Eleanor I, her princesses, and her honored guests, the high school and grade school students will present the following fea tures of drills, dances, music, and track events: Square dances..... Students presenting the vari ous colorful features of this aft ernoon’s program have been as sisted by Miss Marion Locher, girls’ physical education; Miss Dorothy Moore, pep club drill; Mr. Alexander B. Hays, May pole; Mr. Gerald Burnett, tumbling and boys’ physical education; Mr. Louis Gilles, band; Tony Kis sel, May day manager and Prime Minister; Miss Jean Turnquist, costumes and May court; and Mrs. Pearl Watson, throne deco ration. One wave of any magic wand will take you speeding into fairy land, unequalled in beauty and enchantment, where only the loveliest of maidens may rule. You will hear from a golden throated trumpet a fanfare of be witching quality and look up to see the royalty of this wonder land pass in review. Drifting along a cloud lined path will be Queen Eleanor, gowned in soft white organdy; Jerry Town will proudly escort the Queen to her throne, preced ed by crown bearer Craig Dem ing. The train bearers will be Joe Seeley and Gregory Etchi- sen. Mctid-of-honor Lois Patterson, escorted by Dick Duval, will wear a filmy light green frock to enhance her golden-brown hair. Pixies Heather Brandt and John ny Bolzell will announce her ar rival. Tiny Cheryl Moles and Alan Moehnke will precede Prin cess Dolores Olson, who will catch the sunbeams to color her pretty yellow dress. For her es cort, Dolores has chosen Larry Goldade. QUEEN ELEANOR I TO REIGN SUPREME Marking the finale of her high school days, gracious Queen Eleanor I will reign over the 30th annual May Day festival with her usual charm and friendliness. The enhancing Queen is 17 years old, weighs 130 pounds, and is 5 feet 5% inches tall. Her smooth olive skin is well set off by dark brown hair and dark brown eyes that are always sparkling with merriment. Being an accomplished vocalist.
